Worship brings us to the very throne of God. It is our highest expression of devotion and love to our God, and it is central to who we are in our relationship with God. Worship is God’s people admiring and applauding the worth and worthiness of God. Our first priority in worship is to give to God, the eternal Creator and our redeemer King, what He deserves. While we find ourselves inspired by the worship, our first goal is not what we take away from it. It is what we can contribute to it. We are definitely not to be spectators. We are participants lifting up praise and adoration to God and to His Son. We come to forget about ourselves and to be overwhelmed with Him! We love being God-centered in our worship. We want to be a church of “God worshippers” and “Christ followers."
We are committed to constructing our worship to God as He has instructed in His holy Word. He alone should direct us as to how we approach His throne in worship. To us, His Word reigns, so His worship must be done in His way.
We work at making our worship simple, yet profound, saturated with historic truth, yet culturally relevant. It first is designed for the people of God, to stimulate and accommodate their praises and to feed their souls. But the Gospel is so woven into every part that anyone without Jesus in their life can understand and respond to the call of an ever gracious Savior who loves to forgive sins and transform lives.
Our music is a blend of contemporary and traditional psalms, hymns and songs. We enjoy a variety of instruments accompanying this broad spectrum of worship music. Every generation is helped by the selections. We endeavor to love each other through the variety of musical tastes as we join together in exalting our triune God. Worship is to be more about what exalts God and enables us to lavish upon Him our reverent and joyful praise.
Though financial giving to the Lord is a part of worship, there are no offering plates passed. Two boxes are discreetly located in the worship center for all who would like to pour out their love on God in this way. There is no pressure to give; the teaching of Scripture moves us to it. Our God says that He loves a cheerful giver!
